Maldives to Increase Tourism Sector GST rate to 17% from 1 July 2025

The Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST) rate in the Maldives is set to increase from 16% to 17% effective 1 July 2025. This change will apply to a broad range of tourism-related businesses, including resorts, guesthouses, and travel agencies. Businesses must ensure they apply the new rate correctly based on time-of-supply rules.
